Landscape: Day of Service

landscape-1

As the final piece of our City of God expansion project, Fishers Boy Scout Troop 199 held a day of service in early October to install landscaping on the church grounds. Scouts, adult leaders, and families spent 300 man hours installing plants, mulch, and stone on the property under the leadership of Mark Keys. Allisonville Nursery provided the landscape design and planting materials for the project. Holy Family wishes to extend sincerest thanks and appreciation to Troop 199, Allisonville Nursery, and all who helped make this project such a success.

City of God: Building Dedication

Dedication 8
On Sunday, April 24, 2016 The Reverend Catherine Waynick, Bishop of Indianapolis, joined Holy Family for a day filled with excitement. Bishop Cate celebrated our 8 AM and 10 AM worship services and spoke during our 9 AM Christian Education hour. Following the 10 AM service, Bishop Cate led a special service to dedicate our new City of God additions. Holy Family’s congregation was joined by representatives from Aspen Group (shown above.) A special hospitality was also held to thank Bishop Cate for her service to the people of Holy Family and our Diocese during her 19 years as Bishop. Burning Palms
Ashes liturgyShrove Tuesday at Holy Family was particularly exciting this year as we celebrated the first large-scale use of our new parish hall. We held a liturgy to burn palms from 2015, the ashes from which will be used in our services tomorrow on Ash Wednesday.
Bury
We “buried the Alleluia” and put away our gold and white banner until Easter Vigil.
Pancakes
Finally, we enjoyed pancakes with all the extras in our annual Pancake Supper youth group fundraiser. Special thanks are extended to all those who cooked and served food at tonight’s event.

Pack 6
This weekend a crew of volunteers from the congregation shared their helping hands and happy hearts to pack and move items out of our education wing in preparation for construction in that area. In typical Holy Family fashion, even the kids got involved and were very helpful with moving and lifting items. Thank you to everyone who came out to clear the classrooms in record time.
