Holy Family will host its annual Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 25th from 6-7:30 PM in the parish hall. A Church members host themed displays with candy, treats, and sometimes games. Some regard trunk-or-treating as a safer alternative to trick-or-treating, while some parents see it as an easier alternative to walking the neighborhood with their children, no matter the weather. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event.
- Choose your theme and include it on the registration form. Please take note of themes that have already been chosen – we want to provide variety for kiddos!
- Please consider bringing string lights or other ways to light up your display as the parish hall is quite dark at night.
- Make, collect, or buy supplies to decorate your display.
- Buy candy or non-candy treats (such as stickers, pencils, small toys, etc.) to hand out from your display. All food items must be store-bought and individually-packaged.
- You can also donate candy, non-edible treats, or decorations for other people to use in displays.
At the event:
- Decorate/set up your display between 5-6 PM.
- Wear a costume or dress up to match your display.
- Hand out candy and/or other treats during the event from 6-7:30 PM.
- Following the event, take down your decorations. Consider storing them for future events! Please throw away any trash in the church dumpster at the end of the parking lot.
Please contact Jolene Johnston at jjohnston@hfec.org for more information or for ways that you can volunteer during this event.
